High School Musical On Stage! Opens Next Week at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, NJ, Runs November 5 through December 7

Roxy won’t have to use the stapler after all…our terrific nanny got those “Try It” badges and petals ironed on and sewn onto London and Maddie’s Brownie and Daisy vests just in time… Rex, London, Maddie and I are off to see High School Musical On Stage! with London’s entire Brownie troop later this month at the Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey.  As the promotional pieces suggest, we’re going to experience the hit musical sensation that’s sweepin the nation at this exuberant, clever and totally entertaining show, based on the Disney Channel original movie.

Directed by Mark S. Hoebee, starring Sydney Morton & Chase Peacock, and reuniting choreographer Denis Jones & Bailey Hanks, this production promises to be a great time for teens, tweens and anyone who remembers the triumphs and challenges of high school.  While London and Maddie can’t wait to see one of their favorite Disney movies brought to life, I have to admit that I am always surprised at the wide age range of High School Musical and Disney Channel fans.  Our teenage babysitters truly seem to look forward to joining our first and second graders to watch Troy, Gabriella, Sharpay, and the Wildcats in the two DVDs, and fans of all ages have hit the theatres for Disney’s High School Musical 3.  I’m always a fan of people-watching, and I’ll be interested to see what the crowd looks like at the Paper Mill Playhouse for High School Musical On Stage!

I received a reminder postcard from Paper Mill Playhouse, letting me know that High School Musical On Stage! opens on Wednesday, November 5th and funs through Sunday, December 7th.  Many of the weekend matinees are sold out, but you can still call the Paper Mill Playhouse Box Office at (973) 376-4343 or order tickets online for most performances.

London, Maddie, Rex and Roxy Make Plans to See High School Musical at Paper Mill Playhouse with London’s Brownie Troop

Posted by: Roxy - Print This Post Print This Post

Now, you may have heard rumors that I stapled London’s “try-it” badges onto her Brownie vest instead of sewing or ironing them on…and those rumors may have a bit of truth to them.  There just aren’t enough hours in the day to get everything done, and would you rather I take a few shortcuts with the Brownies or give up blogging?  Mmmmhmmm…

Anyway, one of the Brownie events that our whole family is looking forward to is the November trip to Paper Mill Playhouse in Millburn, New Jersey, to see High School Musical.  Disney Theatrical Productions has created a live stage production based on the Disney Channel Original Movie. It’s London and Maddie’s chance to see one of their favorite movies brought to life in a local New Jersey venue.

High School Musical 3 is coming to movie theatres on October 24th, and right after that big event, the live show will take the stage at Paper Mill Playhouse, running from November 5th through December 7th.

Paper Mill Playhouse Holding Auditions for High School Musical: London and Maddie Missed the 16-Year-Old Age CutOff (Thankfully by Quite a Few Years)

Paper Mill Playhouse, in Millburn, New Jersey, is holding an open call on Saturday, September 6th, for male and female singers, ages 16 and up to play high school students in the upcoming production of Disney’s High School Musical. London and Maddie missed the age cut-off…thankfully I have quite a few years before they start their teenage years… but if you have or know a 16-year-old High School Musical fan who can belt out a tune, check out the Paper Mill Playhouse casting page for all the details!
